On July 7, the upgraded cable repository – built in 1972–1974 – was officially opened for business by Otto H. Suhner, Urs Schnell, and Marc P. Wartmann in the company of all of the employees and suppliers who had been involved in the project.

High-strength steel ropes from FATZER make it possible to create imposing yet light stadium membrane roof constructions requiring a minimum of materials. For the new sports park in the Chinese city of Suzhou, the track ropes were produced and assembled for the roof constructions for the stadium and swimming pool.
