Kleinwabern/Bern Heating Station

In April 2006 we were awarded a contract for the delivery of 400 metres of Flexwell 200/310 heating pipe to Wabern. The construction firm decided in favour of our pipes, because our Flexwell model can be laid very quickly and economically. Additionally, in order to reduce to a minimum the obstruction caused to public traffic by the construction work, the decision was taken to lay the Flexwell pipe in three stages.
Transporting the materials from Brugg Rohrsysteme GmbH, Wunstorf D, with a police escort was not exactly the simplest task we had ever undertaken. Furthermore, attention had to be paid to the fact that the final pipe lengths needed to be determined prior to laying, and thus prior to transport.
The first instalment, delivered in mid-May 2006 and comprising 2 lengths of 94 metres, and the second instalment, delivered at the beginning of June and consisting of 2 lengths of 29 metres, went off without a hitch, despite an unexpected change in the route caused by a tree.
After the third delivery of the material took place on schedule on 8 September 2006, the final stage of the Flexwell 200/310 heating pipe could be laid. The remaining parts of the heating network were finished with Premant pipes.
