The secondary networks, which are connected downstream of the primary network, supply sections of these areas using six systems, which are operated at low temperatures and pressures.
In addition, separate local heating networks each supply three residential areas in the outer suburbs with the heat produced by the city’s combined heat and power stations (CHP, built from 2004).
In 2014, Münster’s municipal utilities planned to connect two new district heating pipes (DN 800 / DA 1200) to the existing pipes at the harbor path/promenade and thermal storage tanks.
At the beginning of 2015, the responsible parties in Münster opted for quality from Thuringia, and commissioned GERMANPIPE. Following extensivepreparations, including approval from the bomb disposal team, the first deliveries arrived on June 8, 2015.
To date, three construction phases have been supplied with 696 m of pipeline, 11 bends, and 4 branch pipes of DN 800 / DA 1200.
